The idea for After Avalon came from my fascination with the moments before a legend begins. King Arthur’s story is well-known, but what happens when the king is gone and the kingdom is left vulnerable? I wanted to explore the fragile time when hope flickers in the darkness, and the forces of good and evil prepare for the battles ahead.

Merlin, the legendary wizard, became my guide through this world. His determination to protect Arthur’s legacy, despite overwhelming odds, felt like the perfect lens to explore themes of destiny, sacrifice, and resilience. The book is a prequel that sets the stage for the Saving Albion series, where readers will follow the reincarnation of King Arthur as he discovers his true identity and faces threats that could change Britain forever.

Writing After Avalon was a journey of rediscovery for me. I grew up enchanted by the tales of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table. Yet, I always wondered what happened after Camlann. This book - and the series, in turn - gave me the chance to fill in those gaps and bring new life to familiar characters.

One of my favorite quotes from the book captures this spirit:

“So allow the people of today and the future to read of him, hear his stories, and know that there was a time when magic, chivalry, and hope existed - and that it could once again.”

This line, spoken by Merlin, reflects the heart of the story — hope that endures despite despair.
